God's Wisdom and the Wonder of Creation: Exploring the Intersection of Scripture, Theology, and the Sciences
Northeastern Seminary (Rochester, NY) is hosting an interdisciplinary conference on Scripture, theology, and the sciences on October 25–26, 2019 for scholars, practitioners, students, and ministry leaders interested in the science-faith dialogue.
The keynote speaker is Dr. William P. Brown, William Marcellus McPheeters Professor of Old Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary. Brown will give two lectures.
From Ardi to Adam: The Garden and Human Origins
Brown will discuss how Paleoanthropology provides new ways of interpreting Genesis 2–3.
Job, Astrobiology, and the Science of Awe
Brown will examine the emerging multidisciplinary science of astrobiology, with its profound societal and theological implications, in connection with the book of Job. Besides Brown’s lectures, over thirty papers will be presented in concurrent sessions on topics relating to the intersection of Scripture, theology, and the sciences.
The conference is co-sponsored by the Canadian-American Theological Association, the Canadian Scientific and Christian Affiliation, the American Scientific Affiliation, and BioLogos.
