BioLogos INTEGRATE

A curriculum supplement for teaching high school biology from a Christian worldview

INTEGRATE is definitely bridging the science and faith gap in our curriculum. It is exactly what we need.

  • Why INTEGRATE?

Christian biology curricula are often weak on science, while secular curricula don’t address how science can fits within a Christian worldview. BioLogos INTEGRATE presents consensus science in conversation with biblical faith. Designed for classroom teachers and homeschool parents, INTEGRATE can be used alongside any standard high school biology curriculum, or even on its own. The content emphasizes virtues such as wonder, humility, and wisdom. It also addresses common questions and concerns related to evolution, creation care, and bioethics. INTEGRATE helps young people develop a deeper love of the world God has made and grow in their faith in Christ.

  • Is INTEGRATE for me?

BioLogos INTEGRATE is designed with the needs of Christian school teachers and homeschool parents in mind. It can be paired with any existing biology curriculum. The modular design gives teachers flexibility to pick and choose the activities that best suit their goals, time constraints, and students’ interests.

While written with high schoolers in mind, we’re finding that INTEGRATE can be successfully adapted for other ages as well—from middle school on up to college! Parents of public school students can also use it to help their kids make connections between science and faith.

  • What makes INTEGRATE unique?

We offer accurate, reliable scientific information vetted by qualified scientists; engaging hands-on science activities; and alignment with the Next Generation Science Standards. While we do present the scientific evidence on topics like evolution and climate change, our teaching materials are sensitive to the beliefs and concerns of students with differing viewpoints.

Every unit encourages spiritual growth through active reflection on Scripture and the practice of a Christian virtue. Interviews with Christian role models encourage students to see how science can be a Christian calling.

INTEGRATE is another reason I love BioLogos. Equipping parents and teachers in an engaging way, fearlessly approaching science and faith as complements, putting in the hands of educators a user-friendly tool to help raise students to think beyond their tradition or one-sided science text and pursue both good science and the beauty of Scripture, INTEGRATE is a gem.

  • The time has come for Christian schools to teach biology from a scientifically credible and distinctively Christian perspective. We must encourage students to run toward science, not away from it. BioLogos INTEGRATE uniquely addresses a long-neglected curricular need for Christian schools who are serious about preparing their graduates for critical and constructive engagement in science for college, career, and beyond.
