Morgan Bolt graduated from Messiah College in May of 2014 with a degree in sustainability. The following October he was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumors, a rare soft-tissue sarcoma considered a pediatric cancer. After a lengthy and difficult battle with cancer, Morgan passed away on December 18, 2018. Morgan began writing under the pseudonym S. D. Gloria in 2013 when he wrote his first novel.
