Science and Faith, Coexisting Peacefully
We at The BioLogos Foundation believe people can and should talk to each other, discuss different points of view, and arrive at their own conclusions.
BioLogos was founded in 2007 by Dr. Francis Collins—a physician and geneticist known for spearheading the Human Genome Project and for his landmark discoveries of disease genes.
Formerly an atheist, Collins became a Christian in his 20s after realizing his perspective did not provide answers to profound questions about the meaning of life and was inconsistent with observations about the nature of the universe and humankind. When you become a Member today, we’ll send you Collins’ book The Language of Science and Faith as our thank-you.
All of us here at BioLogos are Christians; many of us are professional scientists, biblical scholars, philosophers, theologians, pastors, and educators; but we’re all concerned about the long history of disharmony between the findings of science and large sectors of the Christian faith.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, but we also believe that evolution, properly understood, best describes God’s work of creation.
So we bring people together to engage in this conversation, and you’ll find on our website—www.biologos.org—great thinkers: Pastors, theologians, public scholars and scientists such as N. T. Wright, Mark Noll, Tim Keller, Ard Louis, Joel Hunter, Alister McGrath, John Walton, Os Guinness, Nancey Murphy, Peter Enns, Francis Collins, and more.
We’re here to address the escalating culture war between science and faith, promote dialogue, explore harmony between the two . . . and help you develop a worldview that embraces both of these complex belief structures.
The intended result? Science and faith coexisting peacefully.
We believe it can happen. We’re seeing it.
We invite you to join us—become a BioLogos Member today. When you do, we’ll send you a copy of the newest book from BioLogos: The Language of Science and Faith: Straight Answers to Genuine Questions.
In this fascinating, down-to-earth exchange, scientists Francis Collins and Karl Giberson lead the way into the supposed chasm between Christianity and science . . . and find common ground!
Science, as it turns out, does not overthrow the Bible. And faith, as it turns out, does not require a rejection of science. The world-renowned Collins and Giberson explain how God cares for and interacts with His creation, and how science offers a reliable way to understand the world He made.
Together, these two great thinkers disentangle the false conclusions of Christians and atheists alike regarding science and evolution using research and actual results in astronomy, physics, geology, and genetics. Along the way, they clearly answer dozens of the most common questions people ask about Darwin, evolution, the age of the earth, the Bible, the existence of God, and our finely tuned universe.

“I have tried to provide reassurance, based on my own path from atheism to belief, and my own experience as a physician, geneticist, and Christian, that science and faith are entirely compatible.”
—Dr. Francis Collins, Founder, The BioLogos Foundation
“I’m so glad that you are out there. I’m doing my graduate studies in lifelong learning . . . I was really starting to struggle and question my faith. Finding your website has put my mind at ease.”
—Ginger
“I’m from St. Petersburg, Russia. I really appreciate your work. It’s very helpful for me and my ministry here in Russia, in a situation when we don’t have enough resources. It’s very encouraging to see mature Christians who are open for honest questions from the world of science and ready to think seriously about it. And I’m happy to be part of this community, at least virtually. God’s blessings!”

Concise. Clear. Convincing. The Language of Science and Faith provides a straightforward means whereby the two sides of this contentious issue can get themselves on the same page.
— Rev. Daniel Harrell, Ph.D.
