Ted Davis
Edward B. (“Ted”) Davis is Distinguished Professor of the History of Science at Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania, and president of the American Scientific Affiliation. Davis teaches about historical and contemporary aspects of Christianity and science and directs the Central Pennsylvania Forum for Religion and Science. He edited (with Michael Hunter) The Works of Robert Boyle, 14 vols. and a separate edition of Boyle’s influential treatise on God and the mechanical philosophy, A Free Enquiry into the Vulgarly Received Notion of Nature. Davis is the author of numerous articles for historical and theological journals and popular magazines, including a 2006 article based on his attendance at the Kitzmiller v. Dover trial. He also contributed an essay on Isaac Newton to the compilation Galileo Goes to Jail and Other Myths about Science and Religion. Besides being president of the ASA, Davis is also a member of the History of Science Society.
