Stephen C. Meyer
Stephen C. Meyer is director and senior fellow of the Center for Science and Culture at the Discovery Institute, in Seattle. Meyer earned his doctorate in the history and philosophy of science from Cambridge University. Historian Edward Larson has described Meyer as “the person who brought ID (intelligent design) to DI (Discovery Institute)". Meyer has promoted intelligent design and debated the movement’s critics on television and other public forums. Meyer’s most recent book, Signature in the Cell, attempts to provide a comprehensive case for intelligent design based on DNA. The book argues that intelligent design is based on growing scientific knowledge rather than ignorance or frustration with science. Meyer also has authored numerous technical articles as well as editorials in magazines and newspapers including The Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, The Houston Chronicle, the Chicago Tribune, First Things and National Review.
