Fazale Rana

Fazale “Fuz” Rana serves as executive vice president of research and apologetics at Reasons to Believe. He fell in love with science while studying at West Virginia State College, and graduated with a degree in Chemistry before going on to Ohio University where he earned a Ph.D. in chemistry with a biochemistry emphasis. Later, he engaged in postdoctoral studies at the Universities of Virginia and Georgia. After that, he worked for seven years as a senior scientist at Proctor and Gamble. These extensive scientific studies led Dr. Rana to believe that life began with a creator. When an acquaintance suggested that he begin reading the Bible, his ideas began to materialize as he realized that the God of the Bible was that creator. This belief, as well as concern for society’s unwillingness to see a connection between science and Scripture, drew the scientist’s attention toward RTB. As part of his work with RTB, Dr. Rana travels widely to speak on science/faith issues, participates in podcasts, and contributes to the RTB blog. He also has written several publications. Some of his most recent books include Origins of Life, Who Was Adam, and, most recently, The Cell’s Design.
