Kurt Wise

Kurt Wise is a theology and science professor and director of the Center for Theology and Science at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. Previously, he directed the Center for Origins Research at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee. Wise received a doctorate in invertebrate paleontology from Harvard University, where he studied under the direction of evolutionary biologist Stephen Jay Gould. Wise has published more than 30 articles supporting young earth creationism and has been a scientific consultant to the Answers in Genesis Creation Museum in Kentucky. His personal young earth creationist testimony appears in the book, In Six Days: Why 50 Scientists Choose to Believe in Creation. Atheist Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion, has referred to Wise as a “truly honest creationist” because of his assertion that he would support a young Earth even if all the evidence supported the contrary.
