Denis Alexander is the Director of the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion at St. Edmund’s College, Cambridge. Alexander writes, lectures, and broadcasts widely in the field of science and religion. Since 1992 he has been Editor of the journal Science & Christian Belief and currently serves on the National Committee of Christians in Science and as a member of the International Society for Science and Religion. Alexander’s book Creation or Evolution – Do We Have to Choose? presents his belief in both biblical doctrine of creation and the coherence of evolutionary theory. The choice between creation and evolution, according to the book, is a false dichotomy. Alexander’s other books include Can We Be Sure About Anything?: Science, Faith and Postmodernism and Rebuilding the Matrix: Science and Faith in the 21st Century. Alexander has also co-edited with Ronald Numbers the recent collection of essays entitled Biology and Ideology: From Descartes to Dawkins. Alexander is a member of the International Society for Science and Religion and a fellow of St Edmund's College, Cambridge.
