2012 Web Highlights
Thanks to the dedication of the BioLogos Web team, 2012 has been a year of big changes to the BioLogos website, from improving the design to adding new user features to updating the technology behind the scenes—and all to give users the smoothest experience possible.
This summer, we launched a completely new look for The BioLogos Forum, relying more on clear icons and bright images than the text and sidebars of the previous one. The new design also features high-resolution images for users on newer high-definition displays.
To go with the new look, we’ve rolled out a number of great features to help make finding our best content even easier. The new Resource Finder, which officially launched on November 1, allows users to search our vast blog archives by topic, format, and audience to find the resources that address their most pressing questions. We’ve also added the ability for registered users to save and share their favorite posts and to create their own custom RSS feeds for Google Reader.
In addition, we’ve been adding new content year-round, including a new Italian translation of our Questions section. In the coming year, we hope to include other languages as well.
Lastly, we continue to upgrade the technology behind the scenes, improving load times and squashing bugs to make visits to the site as smooth as possible. We’ve been optimizing the code and improving how content is delivered, and we also moved to a faster, more reliable server this year!
Overall, it’s been a banner year for BioLogos.org—and we’re not done yet! We hope you’ll continue to follow us in the coming year to see all that we have in store for 2013!
