Dear BioLogos Supporter,
This morning I read the latest Huffington Post blog by new atheist Victor Stenger. "Science finds no need to include any substance beside matter in order to describe our observations of the world," he states. For that statement and more, he receives more than 15,000 "Likes" on Facebook. A quick analysis of the comparative demographics of those who view atheist Richard Dawkins' website shows that it's "off-the-chart high" for viewership among 18-to-24 year olds. In the meantime a Gallup poll released earlier this month shows that 67 percent of America's weekly church attenders believe that humans were created pretty much in their present form about 10,000 years ago.
What is wrong with this picture? Young people are being torn between two extreme voices, and far too many of them have unconsciously concluded that there is no choice but to reject Christian faith in the process. Nothing could be further from the truth.
BioLogos exists to change this picture. An informed view of science enriches the Christian faith, even as we work through some of the challenges that many believe imply that there can be only disharmony. Join us on our journey toward a new day.
