I'm a believer in Jesus who is learning about evolution too. I've read Dr. Collins' Language of God but need to be pointed toward more layman-level books discussing some of the questions arising when you move from a literal 7 day creationist view to one that accepts evolutionary creation. Thanks in advance for your suggestions! - Nicole
Thanks for your email! Three books come to mind!
The Language of Science and Faith is a follow-up to Dr. Collin's first book and addresses a lot of questions in an approachable, easy to read fashion. Dr. Darrel Falk’s Coming to Peace with Evolution explains a lot of the science behind evolution in a clear manner with plenty of discussion points from a Christian perspective.
And, of course, there is Origins by our president Deborah Haarsma and her husband Loren. The book was written for the general church audience and explores many of the questions surround the Christian discussion on science and faith in a very friendly, balanced tone! You can find a few excerpts from the book on our website, and don’t forget, you can receive a free copy with your donation of $50 or more!
