BioLogos is Reaching Christians in the Muslim World
While many of our readers come from North America and the United Kingdom, BioLogos has seen a growing presence in other countries! This month, we’re pleased to share a letter we received from a BioLogos reader who has begun studying anthropology in a predominantly Muslim country. We’re excited to hear about his journey and how he’s been able to use the resources on our website to strengthen his faith. It is our sincere hope that his is just one of many stories of Christians around the world finding harmony between their faith and their interest in scientific studies!
I'm an anthropology student, and I recently became a believer. It was hard and complicated at first but The BioLogos Foundation website has helped me a lot. Because the anthropology society in my country is totally atheist (I used to be an atheist, too), it was so hard to me going to school and learning about a "Godless evolution" and coming back home as a "not sure about the 7 days believer." It was like having two different personalities at school and after school. The salvation of my problem started with a book by Francis Collins and after that, the Biologos articles helped me a lot. It is still hard to me because I'm going to be the first "Christian anthropologist" in my country and right now there is no one around me to discuss or to learn about theological evolution. But I feel like I have a call from God to tell and teach others how God loves us and how he took billions of years with a complicated evolutionary process to create us to share his amazing love. I still have tons of questions in my mind as someone who is being prepared by God to be a scientist, but many things are pretty clear for me right now. Thank you so much for this amazing foundation and for this website. God is definitely using you to reach young people like me who lives in a mostly Muslim country and are growing in God in an atheist scientific society.
