2011 Christian Scholars Conference

On June 16-17, 2011, Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, hosted the 31st annual Christian Scholars’ Conference.  Traditionally, this event brings together institutions of higher education and Christian scholars from all academic disciplines. This year, its specific theme was “The Path of Discovery: Science, Theology, and the Academy.”


Let Newton Be!

On April 21, 2011, BioLogos, in partnership with Point Loma Nazarene University, hosted a special performance of the acclaimed production, Let Newton Be!.

After touring in the U.K., the production came to North America with stops in Toronto, Boston, and New York City. The play, written by zoologist-turned-playwright Craig Baxter and directed by Patrick Morris of the Menagerie Theatre Company in Cambridge, England, was commissioned in 2009 by our friends at the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion at St. Edmunds College, Cambridge University, to celebrate the University’s 800th anniversary and the International Year of Astronomy.


Polkinghorne Lectures

In November 2010, BioLogos partnered with Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) to host a series of lectures by Rev. Dr. John Polkinghorne, an esteemed intellectual known for discovering the smallest known particle called the “quark.”


Vibrant Dance of Science and Faith

On October 26-28, 2010, President Darrel Falk and Program Director Kathryn Applegate traveled to Austin, TX, to take part in The Vibrant Dance of Science and Faith meeting, where a number of Old Earth Creationists, Theistic Evolutionists, and Intelligent Design advocates spoke and participated in panel discussions.


BioLogos Conference at Gordon College: A Dialogue on Creation

The BioLogos Conference, held June 9-12, 2010, at Gordon College in Wenham, Mass, offered a unique opportunity to explore questions at the intersection of science and faith. The workshop, titled “A Dialogue on Creation,” drew diverse participants for a three-day program sponsored by the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU).
