On Trial in Dayton

Tokens is a live variety show focusing on thought-provoking themes, employing a variety of genres—musical performances, brief interpretive monologues, and dialog with authors and scholars.  With support from The BioLogos Foundation, Tokens will write and produce an episode of its live variety show entitled “On Trial in Dayton.”  Production plans include seeking rights to film on the site of the famous Scopes Trial in Dayton, Tennessee. The grant will result in two distinct outputs: a sixty-minute public television special of the episode, and a supplementary DVD with supporting study materials. “Breaking Down False Dichotomies” serves as one of Tokens’ tag-lines.  The episode will offer an outstanding opportunity to challenge some of the false dichotomies and antagonisms that have arisen in popular American culture regarding Christian faith, evolutionary theory, and the question of human origins. More information about Tokens can be found at http://www.tokensshow.com.
