BioLogos Book Club

Today's entry was written by the BioLogos Editorial Team. You can read more about what we believe here.

The Christmas season is filled with so much activity, and the New Year will be here before we know it. So make your plans now to join us January through April in your small group, campus ministry group, Sunday school class, or on your own as we read and discuss together the best-selling book that led to the launch of BioLogos: The Language of God, by the BioLogos founder, Dr. Francis Collins. The book follows Collins’ transition from atheism to a faith-filled life which finds harmony between scientific and biblical truths. We’ll provide discussion questions for each chapter, as well as interesting supplemental videos, articles, and books to explore the topics further. We’re confident it will stimulate your heart as well as your mind.

If you’re new to investigating the relationship between science and Christian faith, the Book Club is a great place to start the journey. If you’re already familiar with our first book club book, The Language of God, but know others who could be enriched by it, invite them to join the discussion. Last week we received this email from someone planning to lead a group:

“This book has really been a godsend for me. A couple of years ago I was struggling with reconciling my faith with my increasing knowledge of science (I think this usually happens when people go to college, but here I was in my late 40s!) Many people around me told me basically that “evolution is wrong.” I was so discouraged! Did I have to choose? My heart, mind, and love of Jesus told me “no.” Then my search led me to Collins and The Language of God! I am still assembling a group of women who are interested in discussing the book.”

A few Book Club Gift Boxes are still available for those who sign up to lead a group at smallgroups@biologos.org.

Discussion questions will be available for free download on the Book Club page by the end of the month (where you can also find how to receive a free book now and for future book clubs). Then on Friday, January 24, the online portion of the Book Club commences as a special focus every other week on the BioLogos Daily Blog. There you’ll be able to share your thoughts and questions and hear from others in the BioLogos community. We look forward to interacting with you!

I suppose BioLogos staff members will hardly be involved in these discussions?
