The BioLogos Team
Syman Stevens
Executive Director
Syman Stevens studied physics at Furman University, where he was involved with the Baptist collegiate ministries mission team. He received a master's degree in applied mathematics and theoretical physics at the University of Cambridge, and after a year of teaching high school math and physics, he did a fellowship at the Trinity Forum Academy. At the academy, Stevens's research focused on the history of the science-and-faith dialogue, and emphasized the differences between young earth creationism, the intelligent design movement and BioLogos.
After his fellowship, Stevens moved to New York, where he received a master's degree in the philosophical foundations of physics from Columbia University. During his time in New York, he also began working for Dr. Francis Collins to compile and respond to a collection of Collins' most frequently asked questions about science and faith. In the fall of 2008 he moved to Washington, DC and became Program Director of The BioLogos Foundation. In August of 2009, he became Executive Director.
