Diane Baker

Secretary and Treasurer

Diane Baker is a genetic counselor and community advocate.  At the University of Michigan, she provided patient care in a pediatric setting, working with families facing a variety of genetic diagnoses.  She also directed the graduate program in Genetic Counseling at Michigan where she co-edited the principal textbook in the field, A Guide to Genetic Counseling.  In 2000, Diane completed an American Association for the Advancement of Science Congressional Fellowship in the U.S. Senate.  Since that time she has become more involved in public policy issues through her board work with Genetic Alliance.  In addition, Diane is a Big Sister and a Court Appointed Special Advocate in Rockville, MD.

Diane received her BS from Michigan State University in 1976 and her MS from Sarah Lawrence College in 1979.
